Sequin feature quilt

The cover quilt for the Sequin pattern is made from Ruby Star Society Speckled by Rashida Coleman Hale. It’s such a genius ‘solid’, with a gentle metallic speckled texture. It’s probably my favourite solid!

Ruby Star Society ‘Speckled’

  • Sunstone Metallic (A1)

  • Neon Pink Metallic (A2)

  • Soft Blue Metallic (B1)

  • Polar Metallic (B2)

  • Festive Metallic (D)

  • Purple Velvet Metallic (E)

  • Pine Metallic (F)

  • Cayenne Metallic (G)

  • White Gold Metallic (binding)

As I described my previous post, the design is a repeated drunkard’s path block.

I certainly didn’t invent this kind of block! But what’s special about this design is the placement of colour.

To achieve the ‘shimmer’ or movement in the design, the Sequin ‘circles’ are made of two halves, that are slightly different in hue or tone.

See my next post for inspiration on colour palettes for this quilt.

There are so many options for how you might pull fabric for the Sequin quilt!
